We are a GP Training Practice
We are proud to be an approved training practice. This means we provide placements for doctors who are training to become GPs, known as GP Registrars. They are qualified doctors who work in the practice under the close supervision of our experienced GP trainers. We also provide high-quality placements for medical students throughout the year from Manchester and Keele University. Students are supported by named GP supervisors and the wider multidisciplinary team. Placements typically include: supervised patient consultations, joint clinics, observed history-taking and examination, dedicated teaching time, case-based discussions, and exposure to chronic disease management, preventative care, and community services.
What this means for you
You may be offered an appointment with a GP Registrar or student. Appointments are often a little longer and may involve a supervising GP. Your care remains our priority at all times.
Your choice
If you would prefer not to see a trainee, please tell reception when booking or let the clinician know. This will not affect your care in any way.
Why it matters
By being a training practice, patients help support the next generation of GPs and it helps our whole team stay up-to-date with the latest medical knowledge.
